FOSE Tour 2025 in Albania: Friendship, Inspiration, and Support for Local Scout Projects

The European Scout Foundation’s FOSE Annual Gathering 2025 took place in Albania from 9–12 October 2025, bringing together Friends of Scouting from across Europe for four inspiring days of culture, connection, and scout spirit.

Participants visited Tirana and Shkodër, met with young Albanian scouts, and explored several youth-led initiatives supported by the Foundation. The program celebrated the impact of local projects and the generosity of FOSE donors whose contributions continue to empower scouting in the region.

As part of the event, donor pins and certificates were presented to several supporters who had not yet received their recognitions — moments of appreciation that reflected the strength of the FOSE community and its shared commitment to supporting the next generation of scouts.

Supporting Youth-Led Projects Across Albania

During this year’s FOSE Tour, we proudly announced that Projects A, B, and D have been fully funded, while Project G has reached almost 50 % of its target. In addition, €300 was allocated to Project F, ensuring even more opportunities for young people in Albania to learn, grow, and make a difference in their communities.

Project A – Green Corners of Tirana (Young Scout Group of Tirana) – €800

A youth-led environmental initiative to design, plant, and maintain small community gardens in Tirana. These green spaces, decorated with recycled art, will become safe and colorful meeting points for local residents, teaching children teamwork, responsibility, and care for nature.

Project B – Exploring Nature, Creating Opportunities (Scouts of Tropoja) – €1,500

The Scouts of Tropoja are exploring and preserving lesser-known natural sites to develop a sustainable eco-brand of handcrafted wooden products. This project combines eco-tourism, community mapping, and youth entrepreneurship to promote environmental protection and local income generation.

Project C – Art Awakening the Village (Youth of Has) – €960

Through concerts, dramatizations, and art workshops in rural Has, this initiative connects culture and community life. It encourages creative expression, preserves traditions, and gives young people a meaningful way to engage with social issues and strengthen local identity.

Project D – Potato Fair & Lake Cleaning (Scouts of Kukës) – €500

This two-day action blends culture and ecology. Scouts participate in the traditional Potato Fair in Shishtavec and organize a cleanup at Lake Kallabak. Sports activities and volunteer engagement foster environmental awareness and community spirit.

Project E – Reforesting Albania (Dibra Scouts) – €1,300

By planting 100 pine saplings in fire-affected areas, Dibra Scouts are directly contributing to forest restoration and sustainable development. The project promotes environmental education and the role of scouts as protectors of natural heritage.

Project F – The Craft of Our Ancestors (Youth of Elbasan) – €750

Young people in Elbasan learn traditional crafts and skills from local elders, helping to preserve artisanal heritage and strengthen intergenerational ties. The initiative nurtures creativity, cultural pride, and continuity of local traditions.

Project G – Paddling for Nature and Friendship (Taraboshi Scouts) – €5,500

A ten-day summer camp on Lake Shkodra where children discover the joy of paddling, teamwork, and outdoor life. This project fosters environmental awareness, friendship, and healthy habits — aiming to become an annual tradition connecting scouts from Albania and beyond.

Collective Impact

Thanks to the generosity of our Friends of Scouting in Europe, these projects are turning ideas into action. During the FOSE Tour, participants witnessed firsthand the dedication of young scouts who are reshaping their communities through creativity, sustainability, and service.

The European Scout Foundation expresses heartfelt gratitude to all donors for their ongoing support — together, we continue empowering young people and strengthening the spirit of Scouting across Europe.
