FOSE Reception at Westminster Palace
Monday, 23rd of October 2023, FOSE UK organised a fantastic reception in the State Rooms in Westminster Palace, hosted by the Speaker of the House, Sir Lindsay Hoyle.
Over 60 people were in attendance, from which half were already FOSE and the rest we hope will join soon. A few certificates and pins was handed out,. Colin Dippie became an annual donor, as did 3rd Head Green Scout Group and John May upgraded to a life friend.
We were honoured by the presence and presentations of World Scout Committee member Nika Gorovska who gave a personal reflection based on her experiences from her home country Ukraine on the need of Scouting for young people. Agnieszka Pospiszyl, former board member of the European Scout Foundation presented the fantastic work done on the ground by scouts in countries surrounding Ukraine withing UAct project.
Present board member Johan Strid urged all to become FOSE, or to upgrade, to support an effort done by a Scouts. Rob Woodford, chairman of the World Scout Foundation spoke to what the foundation is doing to support Scouting in Europe.
