Humanitarian help for Ukraine

Our regional commissioners are in contact with the regional government and have supported the effort with shelter places in various scout centres across Poland. The regions bordering with Ukraine are providing immediate support to the people in need with transportation efforts, distributing most needed articles and guiding people to safety.

International department is in constant contact with scout organizations in Ukraine and is disseminating information on their needs and a targeted help is provided by units across bordering regions. We have also engaged in a effort to accommodate scouts fleeing Ukraine with scouts in Poland. For that occasion, a platform was prepared to match Polish scouts with Ukrainian scouts in need and it’s called scouts for scouts http://www.s4s.zhp.pl/

We are constantly assessing all of the needs of people on site already and creating a database of those needs in all of the regions including supplies but also manpower. We are aware that this is stretched in time humanitarian effort and we are acting accordingly to the information and needs we are faced with.

Support required from FOSE:

We estimate that we will need the following for regions with the highest impact of refugees but also further inland:

• Volunteer equipment and food (including but not limited to: large thermos for hot drinks, vests, protein bars, gloves, torchlights, masks) : 4 000 €
• Shelf stable food and water supplies : 3 000 €
• Sanitation & Hygienic Supplies: 15 000 €
• Non-consumable supplies: 1 500 €
